Five Pairs of Kingfisher Feather and Jadeite Embellished Hairpins
19TH CENTURY
清晚期 點翠簪子五對
three pairs worked primarily with parallel panes of feathers inlaid with to metal and papered backings: comprising a pair of paper-backed bulbous peach-form examples, a petite pair of pentafoil flower-forms examples each mounted with a clear single cut, a set of downward swooping butterflies. One pair worked with spiky filigree insects and flowers set on animate springs, the former supporting strands of chain links, another with circular jadeite pendants mounted in conforming gilt metal 'coin' roundels stamped '順和足紋' to the reverse.
