A Diamond, Colored Diamond and Gold Mounted Bloodstone Box
Likely Dresden, Mid 18th Century
cartouche shaped, the lid containing numerous old mine, European and rose cut diamonds in various shapes mounted in silver-topped gold. Total weight of diamonds is approximately 25.00 carats. The Diamond setting is fixed upon carved bloodstone, with yellow gold hinged lid. The gold rim on lid chased with floral sprays with a diamond-inset thumbpiece.

Diamond Characteristics (graded insofar as mounting permits by Hindman Gemologists):
Color: H-M+ (with yellow-browns, three small pink diamonds, and one greenish diamond). No diamonds have been tested by a laboratory).
Clarity: VS-I.
There is a very small, flat flake to the edge of the underside of the box.
