A Sumerian Lapis Lazuli and Gold Bead Necklace

Circa Late 3rd-Early 2nd Millennium B.C.

Length 21 inches (53.3 cm).

Provenance:
Private Collection, New York, acquired in the 1960s; thence by descent.

Composed mostly of biconical lapis lazuli beads and gold biconical beads, strung with a modern gold hook and loop closure.
