Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Wostenholm & Sons “IXL” Washington Works Bowie knife and sheath. 

5 in. spear point blade, 3 1/2 in. false edge, 9 in. overall length. Blade marked in three lines above the median ridge: "G. Wostenholm & Son / Washington Works / Sheffield." Ricasso marked "I*XL" (minor blemishes to blade). German silver hilt with two piece bone grips and narrow guard (some surface wear and areas of spotting to grips). Original red leather sheath embossed with gold borders and "I*XL" (surface wear, scuffing, and some soiling to red leather sheath).
