Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 4 images of armed soldiers, incl. period copy ambrotype of officer with sword. 

Sixth plate period copy ambrotype of an officer wearing shoulder boards and officer's sash, the hand of his sword just visible in the frame. (Focus a bit soft, with some surface scratching and light spotting, heavy spotting to mat; unsealed.) Housed in broken half case. -- Sixth plate tintype portrait of a heavily armed soldier with a knife and pistol tucked in his belt, wearing a kepi and frock coat. (Heavy crackling and some darkening to image; unsealed.) Housed in half case. -- CDV-size tintype of standing officer, possibly late Indian Wars. (Image a bit dark, with some discoloration to left and upper edge; unsealed.) Housed in half case. -- Loose period copy tintype of a Union soldier holding a rifle upright with one hand and wearing a US belt plate. (Surface crackling, scratching, and wear.) -- Together, 4 images of soldiers.
