Lot Description
A Louis XIV Style Gilt Bronze-Mounted Boulle Marquetry Bracket Clock
19th Century
the dial signed illegibly, the movement stamped H&F Paris / 3165, 187+ and 9 1 10, the reverse of the dial stamped 3165 CH and inscribed Safontas Toulouse; with key and pendulum.
Height overall 48 x width 20 x depth 10 inches.
Condition Report
Height of clock overall 35 1/2 x width 17 1/8 inches.
Height of bracket 12 1/2 x width 20 inches.
The works take a wind, the hands appear to progress as they should and the clock chimes at each half hour (the number of chimes do not correctly correlate with the hour). Works not tested for longevity, nor examined by an horologist. The case in overall fair, stable condition. Scattered instances of lifting to the brass inlay, minor instances of loss to brass and tortoiseshell, not immediately noticeable. Additional images available upon request.
