Imilac Pallasite, Circa 4.6 billion years ago
Diameter 2 inches (5.1 cm).
This lot is located in Chicago.
Provenance:
Recovered from the Atacama Desert, Chile.
Formed at the mantle-core boundary of an asteroid this 'Space Gem' dates to the birth of our solar system and is one of the most exquisite type of meteorites known.
