A Set of Ten Louis XVI Style Cream-Painted Dining Chairs
20th Century
Height 38 1/2 x width 25 inches.
This lot is located in Chicago.
Condition Report
Seat height: 16 inches.
Arm height (at front): 23 inches.
Overall depth: 20 1/4 inches.
The catalogued dimension for width is the overall measurement. Nine of the ten chairs are in overall good, stable, usable condition. Old scuffs, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. Having a distressed finish from production, but some chairs exhibit heavier flaking to paint consistent from wear and use. The cushions are sunfaded to tops with some scattered stains to most. The cushions could be flipped but the undersides are more yellow due to the sunfading on the top. One chair with caning detached from front of seat. All other examples having caning appear intact without breaks or needed restoration. Additional images available upon request.
