Condition Report
Overall sturdy, well-conserved, largely original condition. Good color and apparently original finish, with some modest later polishing. The marquetry all tight and secure. Finials missing from the top of the upper section. A section of molding detached from the proper right side of the upper section but present. Mirror plates are beveled, showing age but likely replaced. The brass ring handles probably replaced; key escutcheons possibly original. Leather writing surface is old, but probably replaced. Missing several of the vertical panel dividers from the open compartments of the interior. A negligible age crack through the outside of the slant front; the crack is almost in need of repair, but presently on the favorable side of what is acceptable. Minor age cracks on the sides of the upper section and one side of the lower section. A small area of warped / cracking veneer at the bottom of one side of the lower section.
