Three Japanese Cloisonne Articles

20th Century

the first a blue ground charger, the interior decorated with a bird perched on a tree branch above flowering peonies; the second a pair of vases decorated with blade-shaped reserves enclosing stylized mythical animals and floral bands.

Diameter of charger 12 in., 30.5 cm.

Condition Report

The base and mouth of each vase bumped without resultant enamel loss, surface scratches and wear to each. One vase with a small chunk of missing enamel. The chargers with a soiled scratch to the front, a hemicircular band of faint surface scratches to the underside, rubbing to the gilt rim.
