Lot Description
[BOATS]. A group of 54 RPPCs & photos of steamboats, sailing ships, and other vessels.

The lot contains approx. 41 real photo postcards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, some unused, 1 CDV, 2 stereoviews (1 of which is printed), and 10 silver gelatin photographs, 3 x 5 in., or smaller. Many of the scenes are identified in the negative. 

Highlighted titles/scenes include: 2 views of the wreck of the square rigger Glenesslin along the Oregon coast in 1913. The ship was enroute to pick up wheat in the Columbia River when she wrecked. -- 4 views of the wreck of the steamship Czarina, which occurred at Coos Bay, Oregon, in 1910. -- US Government Locks, Seattle, WA. -- Coal Bunkers, Nanaimo, BC. -- 4 images of the passenger liner, SS Bremen, incl. a view of the ship on the water and interior shots. -- USS Cheyenne at sea. -- Boat Landing, State E.P.L. Chautauqua, Havana, IL. -- Muscatine Iowa on the Mississippi River. -- Plaque Mine Locks, Plaque Mine, LA. -- Steamers Phantom and Madeleine in Portland, ME, 1896 (not RPPCs). -- View of steamship on the Ohio River, Marietta, OH. -- Ships at dock at Corpus Christi, TX. -- 

Together, 49 images, mostly real photo postcards. Condition generally good to very good. Some with edge wear, toning, and album residue to verso.
