Lot Description
[RAILROADS]. A group of 190 RPPCs & photographs of trains, railroads, and locomotives.

The collection is comprised of the following: approx. 132 real photo postcards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, many unused, 3 stereoviews, and 55 silver gelatin photographs, 4 x 6 in., or smaller, with railroad content. Many of the scenes, which were taken throughout the United States, are identified in the negative. 

Highlighted titles/scenes include: First Train in Lakeview, OR, January 1912. -- Quarry, Crescent City, CA. -- Snow sheds in the Sierras. -- Narrow Gage Train at Tahoe City, 1902. -- Loading train on Railway Ferry, "Chief Wawatam," Mackinaw, MI. -- M. & L.S. RY "Snowbound," Singleton, MI. -- Group of engineers in front of train at Tracy, CA. -- Train decorated for the "Days of 49" in Sacramento, CA. -- Track laying machine, Okanogan Valley, WA. -- Junction of Deschutes and Columbia River, OR. 

Together, approx. 190 real photo postcards and photographs. Condition generally good to very good. Some with edge wear, toning, and album residue to verso.
