Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. FREDRICKS, C.D., photographer. Autographed CDV of Philip Henry Sheridan. New York, n.d.
2 1/8 x 3 9/16 in. CDV on cardstock mount (light toning, spotting, and approx. 1/2 in. linear abrasion to upper portion of print and mount). Credited to Fredricks on mount verso and recto. Image autographed, "Phil. H. Sheridan Maj. Genl. USA."
Vignetted bust portrait featuring Sheridan in profile, wearing his major general frock coat and shoulder straps.
Sheridan's wartime expoloits are well known. He was later advanced to lieutenant general and full general and become Commander-in-Chief of the US Army in 1883.
