Note:
The Guérhard and Dihl Manufactory, also called the Duke of Angoulême (Duc d'Angoulême) Manufactory, was founded in 1780 by Christophe Dihl and Antoine Guérhard with the patronage of the oldest son of the Count of Artois. By 1785 the manufactory boasted twelve sculptors and thirty painters specializing in biscuit and hard-paste porcelain as well as plaques imitating Wedgwood Jasperware. The manufactory flourished during the revolution and the Empire period, gradually declining and disappearing by 1830.

A comparable Duc d'Angoulême clock with bronze mounts was sold at Sotheby's, Classic Design, Furniture, Silver and Ceramics, 4 April, 2023, Lot 111. Another Duc d'Angoulême clock with biscuit figures and finely painted plaques is in the collection of Waddeson Manor, Buckinghamshire, England.
