Lot Description
A Federal Flamed Birch Veneered and Maple Chest of Drawers
New England, Circa 1805
Height 36 1/2 x width 41 1/4 x depth 20 1/8 inches.
Condition Report
In overall fine and stable condition. Retains a fairly even patina and surface throughout. The surface showing craquelure throughout. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Drawer pulls appear to be original. Residue to the surface in areas. Age cracks in areas. Possible that a couple of the feet have been previously detached, but all appear to be original. Few cracks to the veneer throughout. Three of the lock mechanisms removed, the one that remains is lacking the key. Old age crack to the lower molding on the proper left side of the case.
