Lot Description
** E.J. Churchill Hercules Model XXV-Grade 20 Gauge Shotgun with Travel Case and Accessories
20 gauge. 25" barrels. 14.5" length of pull. 1.5" drop to comb. 2" drop to heel. 2.75" chambers. Modified and improved cylinder chokes. SN: 2283. Blued metal finish to barrels and parts, with case hardened finish to frame and forend hardware. Two piece walnut stock has checkering to straight English grip, butt, and splinter forend with Anson release. Break action side by side hammerless boxlock shotgun with a concaved solid matte rib and brass bead front sight. Item features double triggers, ejectors, and a beetle back safety toggle. Engravings include tight English scroll, rosette screws, and floral borderwork overall to frame and parts. Markings include banner engraved E.J. CHURCHILL to both sides of frame. Bottom of frame has arched HERCULES/MODEL/XXV (inlaid in gold)/FINEST QUALITY markings, as well as engraved No. 2283 to tail of triggerguard. Barrels are marked E.J. CHURCHILL (GUN MAKERS) Ltd. to right barrel, and S. AGAR STREET, STRAND. LONDON. W.C.2. to left barrel. Bottoms of barrels are both marked with serial number and British proof marks. Water tables are also marked with serial numbers and {crown}/V proofs. Includes green canvas and leather travel shotgun case with red felt interior, cleaning tools, and bore blanks.

Condition Report
Very good. Bores are bright, with light drag lines and some powder residue. Finish is strong overall, with some scattered light scratches. Wood stock has scattered light scratches as well. Case exterior shows fading to green canvas and dark discoloration from leather straps. Interior of case possibly refurbished at some point.
