W & C. Scott & Son "The Premier Imperial" SxS Hammerless Shotgun
Manufactured 1891
12 gauge. 30" barrels. 14.5" length of pull. 1.25" drop to comb. 2.25" drop to heel. 2.75" chambers. Cylinder and improved cylinder choke. SN: 47053. Blued metal finish to barrel and parts, with case hardened frame. Two piece walnut stock has four-point checkering to straight English grip and splinter forearm, with push button forend release. Break action side by side hammerless sidelock shotgun with a solid matte rib, brass bead mid sight, and steel bead front sight. Item features double triggers, 7-pin sidelock with cocking indicators, auto ejectors, and a vented rubber recoil pad with leather cover to butt. Engravings include tight English scroll overall to frame and parts, with rosette screws and chiseled fences with floral reliefs. Bottom of triggerguard is engraved with a gothic style A. Markings include W & C. SCOTT & SON to both sides of frame, as well as circular PATENT EJECTOR/HAMMERLESS marks around left side of hinge pin. Barrel is marked W & C. SCOTT & SON PATENT TRIPLEX LEVER GUN. THE PREMIER IMPERIAL (CASTLE) 10 Gt. CASTLE STREET REGENT CIRCUS LONDON. all to right side barrel. Left barrel is marked SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL.

Condition Report
Fine to very fine. Bores are bright, with light powder residue. Finish to barrels shows scattered light scratches and some sprinkled pit marks, mostly toward chambers. Wood stock has some scattered light scratches and mars to butt. Forearm shows two small hairline cracks, one extending from forend insert and one to bottom of forearm. Lever is slightly left of center.
