Condition Report
Framed dimensions 41 1/2 x 34 3/8 inches.
The pair of portraits appear in overall fairly good and stable condition. The portrait of the man having a few minute spots of flaking in the paint above the figure's head and in the drapery of his shirt. The lower half of the painting with a white scuff mark in the paint just above the man's raised hand as well as two smaller scuffs in the lower right quadrant of the painting. There are a few areas on the man's face that appear to have been touched-up, these areas are lighter than the surrounding skin tone. Examination under UV light reveals that the painting has been varnished and there are a few visible areas of in-painting in the lower half of the work, mostly contained to the man's clothing. There is flaking to the paint at the bottom, near the frame.

The portrait of the lady also shows areas of flaking to the paint surface just above the woman's head. Examination under UV light reveals that this work has also been varnished and that there are small areas of in-painting near the figure's nose as well as touched up spots in the background.

Both works are lined. Additional images are available upon request.
