A Set of Eight French Pearwood Dining Chairs

Early 19th Century

Height 33 inches.

Condition Report

Width 16 3/4 x depth 15 inches. Seat height 17 1/2 inches. Usable condition, but of a small scale, and probably would not support a great deal of weight. Some looseness in the joints; creaky. Scattered worm holes and minor age cracks, with a larger age crack through one of the splats. Areas of minor fill and overpainting to conceal fills throughout. Probably upholstered with stuffover seats at one time, with old nail sites faintly visible on the seat rails. The seats are not removable; the upholstery is a chartreuse-colored synthetic leather.
