Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. A group of 2 quarter plate tintypes of armed Union soldiers. 

Quarter plate hand-gilt tintype full-length portrait of standing anonymous armed infantry private wearing a typical civilian smoking cap. (Bends to plate, spotting). Housed in full pressed paper case with floral motif (scuffs to extremities).

[With:] Quarter plate tintype full-length portrait of unknown armed infantry private. (Circular stain, loss near center of image). Uncased, housed in brass mat and preserver.
