Lot Description
[MOSER, Barry, illustrator]. A trial proof bifolium containing the illustrated opening of Genesis beginning the the text of the Pennyroyal Caxton Bible. [North Hatfield, MA and New York City: Pennyroyal Caxton Press, 1999].
Bifolium, ca 400 x 575mm. Printed in red and black; illustrated with an unused trial full-page wood engraving of the Heavens with the Hebrew letter [aleph] at center by Barry Moser; sheet blank on verso. Stitched at center fold and held to mount. Float-mounted in a window mat and handsomely displayed in a gilt-wood frame.
ONE OF APPROXIMATELY 25 TRIAL COPIES PRINTED. The engraving was later used in the published version as an illustration for the Book of Psalms.
