Kristin Vaughn is the Senior Director of Business Development for Hindman’s Atlanta Regional Office and Auction House.
She began with the Chicago-based firm in late 2009, and opened the first regional office for the firm in Naples, Florida in early 2010. Kristin works in tandem with all department experts at Hindman, and oversees the entire consignment process on behalf of private clients, trust and estate professionals, and museum staff. Prior to joining Hindman, Kristin worked in Marketing and Public Relations for a fine art, antiques and jewelry fair that organized museum-quality exhibitions in Palm Beach, Miami, and London. Kristin is originally from Dallas, Texas, and completed her graduate studies at Florida Gulf Coast University, receiving a Masters of Liberal Arts degree in English Literature.
Jon King is a senior specialist in the Southeast region at Hindman.
Mr. King began his career in the early 1980s at Sotheby’s in Los Angeles and New York. Mr. King later ventured into the world of auction house management. He first oversaw a staff of 60 as Executive Vice President, Director of the Butterfield Los Angeles gallery and became a founding Vice President and Director of Bonhams, New York when the British firm opened their doors in September of 2003. After a decade directing the New York operation, he went on to spearhead business in both New York and Florida as Vice President and Director of Business Development for Bonhams. Mr. King had the pleasure of securing and overseeing such collections as the estates of Lauren Bacall, Truman Capote, Aimee de Heeren, Liberace, Kalef Alaton, Michael Taylor, Burton Bettingen, among others, as well as having the distinction of working with the PBS Antiques Roadshow and HGTV’s Appraise It!.
Kate Waterhouse is Vice President of the Southeast at Hindman.
As Vice President, Southeast, Waterhouse advises clients on potential consignments and collection management while growing in existing and new markets and being a key partner to the firm’s eight locations, including national trusts, estates and appraisal teams. Having begun her career as a fine jewelry specialist at Freeman’s she was subsequently promoted to Head of Department and Vice President. During this time Ms. Waterhouse had the pleasure and honor of working as a Jewelry Specialist for the Antiques Roadshow on PBS as well as the Today Show on NBC. Waterhouse later became Jewelry Director for Heritage Auctions’ New York office and then managed business development as Assistant Vice President for Sotheby’s Palm Beach. She has worked on important estates including Property from the Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon: Interiors; and The Collection of Mrs. Marjorie S. Fisher: Palm Beach. Ms.Waterhouse has also assisted with the sales of property sold to benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and, separately, the Ann Norton Sculpture Garden.
