Jarrett Anistranski Named Chief Operating Officer of Freeman’s | Hindman
Freeman’s | Hindman, one of the nation’s leading auction houses, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jarrett Anistranski as Chief Operating Officer. A seasoned executive with over a decade of experience in the auction industry, Anistranski is widely recognized for his operational leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and proven ability to drive long-term growth and innovation.
Anistranski joins Freeman’s | Hindman from Phillips, where he most recently served as Strategic Projects Director, Executive Offices. In this role, he oversaw annual business planning and analysis, led executive-level initiatives, and identified strategic growth opportunities across the organization. He also played a key role in the successful launch of Dropshop, Phillips’ primary market “Buy Now” platform, developed in direct collaboration with artists and creators. This initiative significantly expanded engagement among Millennial and Gen Z audiences and drove strong growth in both the number of transactions and first-time buyers.
Previously, Anistranski held a range of senior positions at Sotheby’s, including Chief of Staff (Chairman’s Office), Director of Marketing Operations & Production, Project Manager, and Business Manager. In these roles, he led annual planning and execution for departments such as Books & Manuscripts, 20th Century Design, and Science & Technology. He also managed critical operational functions, including Client Services, Bids, Risk, Security, and regional offices across the Americas.
Throughout his career, Anistranski has contributed to numerous high-profile projects and marquee sales. Highlights include managing the 2018 renovation of Sotheby’s New York headquarters (Gallery, Office, and Operations); leading marketing and production for Picasso: Masterworks from the MGM Resorts Fine Art Collection (2022); and overseeing business operations for A Collection That We Dreamt Of: Art and Design From the Homes of Delphine and Reed Krakoff (2018) and Alexander Hamilton: An Important Family Archive of Letters and Manuscripts (2017). He also played a pivotal role in Property from the Collection of Mrs. Paul Mellon (2014), among many others.
In his new role at Freeman’s | Hindman, Anistranski will partner with the executive leadership team to drive the firm’s strategic vision and oversee the operational management of Auction Operations, Property Management, Technology, Bids, Client Services, and Photography across all regions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jarrett to Freeman’s | Hindman at such a pivotal moment in our company’s evolution,” said Alyssa Quinlan, CEO of Freeman’s | Hindman. “His deep industry expertise, operational rigor, and forward-thinking approach make him the ideal leader to help shape our future. As we continue to scale and innovate across all business areas, Jarrett’s leadership will drive excellence and deliver exceptional results for our clients and partners.”
“It is a great privilege to join the team at Freeman’s | Hindman, as the oldest auction house in the country looks to grow into the future,” said Anistranski. “I look forward to partnering with CEO Alyssa Quinlan, Executive Chairman Jay Krehbiel, and the rest of the Executive Team to define a strategic plan and create an organization that positions us as a best-in-class firm for the next 220 years.”
