.50 caliber. 31" octagonal barrel length. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish, with bright lock and brass fittings. Full length hardwood stock has Rococo style carvings overall to straight grip and forearm. Flintlock jaeger rifle with brass two leaf notch rear sight and blade front sight. Item features filigree style "lost wax" cast brass fittings fixed to stock overall, as well as patchbox with wood lid featuring cast brass fittings. Stock has a ivory banner fitting on right side that appears to read J. HAUER/BAMBERGXJD. Item most likely constructed in the style of German gunsmith Joseph Hauer or Bamberg.
Very good. Bore is bright, with some dust residue toward muzzle. Finish has some sprinkled oxidation toward front sight. Wood stock is good overall.
