Lot Description
L.C. Smith for Hunter Arms Pigeon Grade SxS Shotgun
12 Gauge. 30" barrel lengths. SN: 2765. 2.75" chamber lengths. Full chokes. Color case hardened frame with blued barrels set in an English style Walnut stock with checkered wood butt and splinter forend. Double barrel sidelock hammerless side by side shotgun with ejectors. Sideplates are engraved with vignettes of a pigeon surrounded by Arabesque spiral scrollwork and showing the maker mark L.C. SMITH. Watertables are marked PAT'D MAR. 29, 83/JULY, 13, 86./OCT. 5, 86. The matted barrel rib is marked HUNTER ARMS CO. MAKERS FULTON, N.Y. followed by a further pigeon vignette. The barrels display the Crown steel trademark along with a PE grade marking. Serial numbers match on on all components.

Condition Report
Fair to Good. Bores are Very Bright. Left barrel displays a small bulge 10.5" from the muzzle. Case colors are faded overall with the upper tang worn to silver and strongest colors remaining to the interior details of the frame. Blued finish to the triggerguard is flaking overall. Barrel finish is thinning overall with pinpoint patina over the muzzle and some scuffs, mars, and further brown flecks overall. Wood stock shows dull spots overall and some scattered light dents and dings. Action locks up tightly with the barrels on face and the lever resting left of center.
