Ninth plate ruby ambrotype. (Tarnsihing at perimeter, some spotting.) Housed in pressed paper case (split at hinge, spots of residue).
A studio portrait of a young soldier, possibly wearing a New York state jacket with 8 buttons and piped epaulettes. He dons a kepi bearing the regimental numbers "64." The subject has a musket and a side knife on his belt.
