[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 4 daguerreotypes of painted portraits, comprising:
Portrait No. 2, (reversed) of Montcalm. Quarter plate daguerreotype. (Some tarnishing to perimeter, spotting.) Housed with glass, brass mat and preserver (heavy tarnishing). Contemporary ink inscription with title: "Copied from a very rare old engraving of a portrait of the Marquis - painted, apparently not long before his death."
[With:] 3 sixth plate daguerreotypes. (Tarnishing at perimeter.) Housed in half leather cases (wear to extremities). Each a daguerreotype of painted portraits of unknown subjects.
