[WORLD'S FAIR]. GOLSEN, Ralph J., photographer. Photo album and souvenir map for the 1893 Chicago World's Columbian Exposition.
47 silver gelatin or collodion photographs, each 6 1/2 x 4 3/8 in. (Toning, some surface abrasions and soiling; one photograph laid in.) Housed in a 12 x 7 1/2 in. leatherette album (significant wear including discoloration, leather loss, and separation to both covers at spine). Photographs are numbered, corresponding to the list tipped in to album, of the 229 photographic prints of scenes and subjects from the World's Fair available to order from Ralph J. Golsen, Chicago. Subjects featured in this album include the Ferris Wheel, the Irish Village, Machinery Hall, the Horticulture Building, a Viking Ship, the Fishery Building, the New York Building, the New Liberty Bell and Terminal Station, the Convent of La Rabida, and many more.
