Lot Description
[WESTERN AMERICANA]. A large group of mining and other western scenes, including:

View of Bunker Hill and Sullivan Mines, Wagner, Idaho. 9 5/8 x 7 1/2 in. photograph on cardstock mount (soiling to print; corner and edge wear to mount including tear through top edge of mount slightly extending into print, few pinholes in margins, soiling and staining to mount). Inscription on print recto lower right and inscriptions in two hands on verso identifying the scene and some of the subjects. -- MCKIRAHAN & WHITTIER, photographers. Georgetown, Colo. from Levenworth [sic] Mt. Georgetown, CO, n.d. 13 x 9 3/4 in. photograph on cardstock mount (damage to print and mount, including loss to right edge, tear through top, tape residue on print and mount). Photographer's applied paper label to verso. -- HOOK, W.E., photographer. I helped to build Pikes Peak Railroad. 7 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. photograph on cardstock mount (toning, some soiling to print and mount; edge and corner wear to mount including corner loss, tear in lower margin slightly extending into print partly repaired on verso with tape). Hand-colored view of a pack mule with photographer's imprint on verso. -- View of Ft. Pierre, South Dakota, showing bandmembers from A.S. Lewis' Big Show (as indicated by banners that young boys hold on each side of the musicians). 6 1/4 x 4 1/8 in. photograph on cardstock mount (light soiling to print; wear and some soiling/staining to mount, corner and edge wear to mount). Penciled ID to verso. -- Miners at Central City funeral. 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 in. photograph on cardstock mount (rich tonality, small chip to top right corner of print; some spots to mount). A procession of miners are shown walking through town. 

[With:] 26 photographic stereoviews, 3 1/2 x 6 in. or smaller, on cardstock mounts, most documenting Colorado, from railroad and mining scenes to town and landscape views. Photographers / publishers include W.H. Jackson, Duhem Bros., Denver, CO, Kilburn Bros., Littleton, NH, Davis Bros., Hammond, LA, Underwood & Underwood, and Keystone View Co. Condition generally good, although a few have some creasing, edge and corner wear and/or loss.

[Also with:] 20 lithographed stereoviews of Colorado. Condition fair to good.
