Verso with various pencil inscriptions including one reading, "Hot Springs Hotel, Las Vegas, New Mexico." View of the complex shows the Montezuma Hotel, stone bathhouse, two-story Stone Hotel, heating plant with smokestack, and bridges passing over Gallinas Creek.

The Las Vegas Optic (December 6, 1879) reported that Jesse James was a guest of the Hot Springs hotel in July, 1879. Henry Hoyt, A Frontier Doctor (Lakeside Press, 1979), pp. 183-187 claims that Billy the Kid played monte with Jesse James there that July.
