A Chinese Ochre Ground Grisalle Decorated Porcelain Zun Vase
LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
清中期 茶葉末地喜上眉梢雙耳尊
having a bulbous, globular body rising from a stout lipped foot, with wide shoulder narrowing before a columnar neck flaring at the mouth rim. Flanked at opposing shoulder with loop handles descending from bat-form mounts. The front intricately painted with a pair magpies roosting in the serpentine curves of a gnarled prunus outgrowth from moss-covered rocks. The reverse sparsely painted with a pair of butterflies at the neck.
