A Japanese Gold and Black Lacquer Four-Case Inro
LATE 19TH CENTURY
the vertical rectangular black lacquered body carved to show an opening revealing a Daruma sitting underneath autumn leaves, in front of a gilt wall; the reverse decorated with a fly whisk, a strand of red lacquered prayer beads and a red lacquered temple block, the interior of nashiji lacquer, unsigned, together with a malachite ojime and a carved wood figural-form netsuke.
Length 3 in., 7.6 cm.
