A Japanese Silver and Gold Lacquered Tobacco Box, Tonkotsu, and Netsuke
LATE 19TH CENTURY
the interior silver and gold lacquered wood, decorated on one side with low relief decoration showing two red carp, the reverse gold fish swimming around gilt aquatic plants and brown  lacquered rockery, the case in gold and black lacquer, unsigned; together with an inlaid carved boxwood netsuke in the form of a boy holding a fish tank, signed Hozan, 法山.
Length 3 in., 7.5 cm.
