Lot Description
An English Brass Cathedral Skeleton Clock
Henry Steer, London, 19th Century
the Roman numeral dial inscribed Henry Steer, Derby & Burton on Trent, the clock having a double fusée movement and a gong coil striking on the hour.
Height overall 27 inches.

Condition Report
Appears in overall decent, stable condition. Lacking pendulum. The central spire currently detached for storage but all component parts are present. Finials atop flaking spires loose with likely associated knop elements. The fusée chain driving the dial mechanism is detached from fusée pulley but appears intact without broken chain segments. Other clock works appear intact and functional but with some dirt and oxidation to gears. Mallet strikes coil gong on the hour and signifies the time with the number of strikes.  Additional images available upon request.
