Provenance: Jacob Harsen Purdy (1844-1917), American book collector, (bookplate); Henry Raup Wagner (1862-1957), American bibliographer, historian, and collector, gifted to; Yale University Library (bookplate 1910, with duplicate note).
FIRST EDITION, prepared for the promotion of Oglethorpe's Georgia colony, and including: "An Essay on Plantations," by Sir Francis Bacon; "Some Passages taken out of the History of Florence, &c."; "A Treatise," by John DeWitt; "The Benefit of Plantations or Colonies," William Penn; and "A Discourse Concerning Plantations," Sir Josiah Child.
