Property of a Jewelry Collector
This brooch is of Princess Turandot from the opera Turandot by Puccini and was a limited series done by Nardi.

Founded in the 1920’s, Nardi carried on the proud Venetian tradition of hand-crafted jewelry. However, it was not until 1931 that Giulio Nardi chose to interpret the famed “Moretti” or Blackamoor brooches that had long been important symbols of Venice. His designs in this motif would go on to become the most desirable examples of the style, attracting international attention and adorning the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe, among many others.
