Lot Description
An Egyptian Faience Ushabti for Horoudja
Late Period, 26th Dynasty, 664-525 B.C.
Height 5 inches (13 cm).
Provenance:
Private Estate, Connecticut, acquired in the mid-1980s.
Condition Report
Intact as preserved. Encrustations or soil/sediment in the crevices throughout, with heavier encrustation to the back of the ushabti. Overall surface wear to the glaze; minor instances of pitting, abrasions, and staining. Elements of the ushabti are well preserved and defined, such as the face. Overall in fine and very attractive condition. Height with stand 5 1/2 inches (14 cm); width 1 1/2 inches (4 cm). Copy of ownership affidavit available upon winning bid.
