On May 7, 1990 Boston Red Sox DH Dwight Evans hit a double off of Seattle Mariners pitcher Erik Hanson in the fifth inning for the 900th extra base hit in his solid MLB career. Evans kept the ball and presented it to a trusted Red Sox colleague after the achievement. The ball is inscribed "To Jack Thank You For All Your Help Through The Years My Best Always Dwight Evans 5/7/90 900th Extra Base Hit (Double) vs. Seattle Kingdome".
