Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined; irregular surface texture to canvas, visible in raking light; areas of overcleaning throughout; inscription and date in lower left corner abraded; inpainting is visible along the upper horizontal stretcher bar line as well as through passages in the sky; under UV light, areas of inpainting scattered throughout, primarily within the sky, the edges, the water; possible area of repair in lower center of water, approximately 1 x 1 inches.
