Madison Sr. petitions the Court of Orange County for judgment against Thomas Wood, who Madison claims owes him 362 pounds of tobacco, 2 shillings, and 6 pence.
James Madison Sr. (1723-1801) owned a large tobacco planation in Orange County, Virginia, that would later become known as Montpelier, the home of his son and fourth president of the United States, James Madison Jr.
