Lot Description
[CIVIL WAR]. Two photographs of Federal soldiers, incl. quarter plate ruby ambrotype of a double-armed soldier and tintype of Union pards.
Quarter plate ruby ambrotype. (Scattered spotting, some surface wear, image a bit dark.) Housed in full pressed paper case (light surface wear). Studio portrait of an unknown Union private with private purchase Colt 1849 pocket revolver and what appears to be a belted stag handle knife. His narrow brim hat appears to show an unreadable two digit regimental number between a staff hat wreath - an unusual arrangement.
[With:] Quarter plate tintype. (Image a bit dark, mottling and scratching to surface.) With mat, but no preserver, glass, or case. Portrait of two Union soldiers seated in a studio before a painted patriotic studio backdrop. The subject at right holds a sword.
