Two Japanese Bronze and Mixed-Metal Vessels
LATE MEIJI PERIOD
the first a pear-shaped vase, the elongated neck mounted with a pair of handles in the form of bamboo sections, cast in relief with flying cranes; the second a squat-form tripod censer, both handles in the shape of sinuous dragons, cast to show cranes amongst clouds, converted into a lamp.
Height of taller 9 7/8 in., 25.1 cm.
