A Pair of Chinese Green Enameled Porcelain 'Dragon' Plates
19TH CENTURY
each with shallow, rounded sides rising from a tapered foot, the interior centered with an emerald-green-enameled five-clawed dragon writhing in pursuit of a "flaming pearl," flame scrolls encircling the beast, all enclosed by a green band bordered in underglaze blue lines and repeated at the rim, the exterior similarly decorated, the base inscribed with a six-character Daoguang mark in underglaze blue.
