[CIVIL WAR]. GAR folk art carved cane featuring corps badges and patriotic motifs.
Approx. 39 in. ln. wooden cane with ball handle (general surface wear throughout including surface scratching; no ferrule present). The initials "HB" are carved in relief below the handle, with Maltese crosses on each side, almost certainly representing the V Corps. A heart, diamond, club, and spade are carved in relief on the opposite side of this section. Remaining length of cane features various relief carved designs and initials, including a man in profile, anchor, star, spiraling snake, chains, shield with "US," American flag with initials "APA," skull and crossbones, horseshoe, "GAR," linked hearts, initials "K of L," knight in profile, boot, and spade and sickle.
