Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A sixth plate daguerreotype featuring a horse.

Sixth plate outdoor portrait of a stocky horse, its reins held by a man wearing a hat. (Some tarnishing to edges, spotting throughout plate and mat; resealed 1995.) Housed in a half pressed paper case (surface wear). The horse and his handler appear to be standing in front of a barn or other large wooden structure, the purpose of the photograph clearly to capture the steed as the main subject.
