[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Ninth plate occupational ambrotype of a blacksmith. 

Ninth plate seated portrait of a blacksmith holding a hammer and horseshoe. (Some wear/fading to image mostly to lower portion, few spots and dust specks, overall good clarity and detail; unsealed.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (surface wear). The subject wears his work apron and hat, and poses before a painted backdrop. His cheeks are lightly tinted pink.
