[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Sixth plate ambrotype of a railroad conductor.
Sixth plate ambrotype seated portrait of a train conductor posed beside an ornate vase and in front of a painted backdrop. (Some debris, few scratches to plate, retains good detail; unsealed.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case (fully spit at spine, closure clasp missing, surface wear throughout). Conductor wears a jacket with patch on one sleeve reading "1[?]027" and hat with gold highlighting over what appear to be letters "C[?]R." His cheeks are lightly tinted pink.
