Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY].  Sixth plate daguerreotype featuring a tailor fitting a sailor.  

Sixth plate standing portrait of two men, one holding measuring tape along the length of the other's torso. (Tarnishing to edges, spotting, clouding, and a few scratches to plate, spotting to mat and preserver; resealed.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case (fully split at spine, surface wear). The subject being measured wears a festive shirt with nautical symbols including anchors. The tailor wears a tall top hat and high collar.
