Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. Sixth plate daguerreotype of an Odd Fellow in regalia featuring fine hand tinting.

Sixth plate standing portrait of an Odd Fellow wearing intricately decorated and hand tinted collar and apron. (Tarnishing to edges, some spotting and other imperfections to plate, oxidation to mat; replacement seal broken.) Housed in a full pressed paper case (surface wear, loss). Collar and fringed apron appear to be lined in red, indicating Scarlet degree. Symbols depicted include the heart in hand, beehive, hourglass, all-seeing eye, and more. The subject also wears a ring with three chained links on his fifth finger.
