Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. MICHAUT, photographer. A trio of 3 daguerreotypes of a French mother and her two children. Paris.
2 3/4 x 3 3/4 in. (visible) daguerreotype of a woman with a yellow-tinted bow tied around her neck, and 2 daguerreotypes, each 2 3/8 x 2 7/8 in. (visible), of a young boy and young girl, presumably brother and sister, each seated beside the same table. (Overall very fine condition, each with light to moderate tarnish to edges, few minor spots to plates.) The boy rests his elbow on a stack of books, and the girl rests her arm beside a white basket filled with what appears to be flowers. Each daguerreotype is sealed under a gilt mat with a ring for hanging. Accompanied by printed paper label, "Miniatures Daguerriennes par Michaut, Membre de la Societe photographique de Paris," with additional inked notation.
Condition Report
The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to
age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and
restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition
they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make
no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind

staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the
Department prior to bidding.
The absence of a posted condition report on the Hindman website or
in our catalogues should not be interpreted as commentary on an
item's condition. Prospective buyers are responsible for
inspecting a lot or sending their agent or conservator to inspect
the lot on their behalf, and for ensuring that they have
requested, received and understood any condition report provided
by Hindman.
